From Acacia to the Grand East
Most Worshipful Grand Master Johnnie J. Eaves, 33°, carries a historic distinction for Acacia Lodge No. 91.
His rise to the Grand East marks the first time a member of Acacia Lodge has served as Grand Master of the Kansas Prince Hall jurisdiction. His record connects military lodges overseas, Acacia's award-winning years in Junction City, statewide Masonic education, and deep community service.
From a local lodge in Junction City to leadership of the entire Kansas jurisdiction, his journey demonstrates what preparation, consistency, and service can build.
The Masonic journey
Raised in New Light Lodge No. 242 under the Texas jurisdiction, beginning a Masonic journey shaped by military service, study, and leadership.
Served as Worshipful Master of Cornerstone Military Lodge No. 135 in Baumholder, Germany, while continuing his work in the York Rite, Scottish Rite, and Shrine.
Served as Worshipful Master of Acacia Lodge No. 91. The Kansas Grand Lodge records Acacia as Lodge of the Year during both of his terms.
Advanced from Grand Junior Deacon to Grand Senior Deacon, Grand Orator, and Grand Lecturer. He was elevated to the 33° in the Herbert M. Douglas Class of 2013 and recognized as Kansas Master Mason of the Year in 2016 and 2017.
Entered the elected Grand Line and proposed a new voting procedure that was adopted to streamline Grand Lodge elections.
Continued serving the Craft through the difficult years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Was elected Deputy Grand Master and served the jurisdiction in preparation for the Grand East.
Was elected and installed as the 44th Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Kansas, becoming the first Grand Master to rise from Acacia Lodge No. 91.
