The Kansas jurisdiction
From three lodges to a statewide Grand Lodge.
The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Kansas traces its Masonic authority through the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio. Its own published history records how three early Kansas lodges gathered in Lawrence to form an independent Grand Lodge in 1875.

The work begins in Lawrence
The Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio organized and chartered Western Star Lodge No. 34 in Lawrence, Kansas, with David G. Lett serving as Worshipful Master.
- 021865–75
Three lodges take root
Euclid Lodge No. 39 in Topeka and Mount Olive Lodge No. 19 in Leavenworth followed Western Star. All three remained under Ohio jurisdiction until 1875.

A Grand Lodge is formed
Delegates from the three lodges met in Western Star's lodge room in Lawrence and established the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Kansas.

The first Grand East
David G. Lett was elected the first Most Worshipful Grand Master without dissent. H. G. Lett, H. C. Bruce, C. H. Langston, Ishmael Keith, and H. H. White were elected to the other recorded Grand Lodge offices.

The jurisdiction announced its 151st Annual Communication for June 3–5, 2026 in Lawrence, the city where the Grand Lodge was organized.
